Metrics

Each entry gives the counting rule, the denominator, which direction is good, and when the metric shows n/a instead of a number.

The rules that apply across all of them, which questions they are measured on and how many answers it takes to trust one, are inHow we measure.

  • VisibilityThe percentage of AI answers that mention your brand.
  • Share of VoiceOf all the times AI answers name you or a competitor you track, the percentage that name you.
  • InfluenceOf the answers that drew on web sources, the percentage where one of those sources is your website.
  • Grounding rateThe percentage of answers that returned sources.
  • PositionWhen an answer names several of the brands you track, where yours lands in that order.
  • ProminenceHow far into an answer your first mention lands.
  • Mentions per answerThe average number of times an answer that mentions you actually names you.
  • SentimentThe tone of the language AI uses about your brand, scored 0 to 100 on every answer that mentions you.
  • Source shareOf all the source links AI answers returned, the percentage that point to your websites.
  • Sources: Used, Linked, and Avg. links per answerThe counts we keep for every domain an engine retrieves alongside its answers.
