Non-branded scope
Competitive metrics are measured by default on questions that name neither you nor a competitor you track.
What it is
Your competitive numbers are measured by default on Non-branded questions: questions that name neither you nor a competitor you track. A question that names some other brand you don't track still counts as Non-branded.
Why it works this way
The reason is comparability. A question that names a tracked brand stacks the deck: naming you nearly guarantees you are mentioned, and naming a competitor steers the answer toward them. Non-branded questions isolate genuine category visibility, measured the same way for every brand.
The Branding filter can widen the scope to questions naming you, naming competitors, or all questions, and every view names the scope it is showing. Each question's classification is decided when the answer is recorded and never rewritten afterward.
Sentiment is the deliberate exception: tone is measured wherever you are mentioned, on any question.
