What it measures

The percentage of AI answers that mention your brand. Each answer counts once: being named five times in one answer is still one mentioning answer.

Google AI Overview gets one special rule. Google does not show an AI Overview for every search, and when no overview appears for a question you track, that is a real, observed absence: it counts as an answer that did not mention you. Skipping those runs would inflate your score by grading only the searches where an overview happened to appear.
