Source share
Of all the source links AI answers returned, the percentage that point to your websites.
What it measures
Of all the source links AI answers returned, the percentage that point to your websites.
Every returned source link counts once, and each link is credited to exactly one tracked brand: the most specific one whose domain covers it, decided when the answer is recorded.
How it's calculated
- What counts as one
- Every source link an answer returned, credited to exactly one tracked brand.
- Divided by
- All source links returned, whoever they belong to.
- Direction
- Higher is better: the more of what AI answers draw on is yours, the more influence you have over what they say.
- Shows n/a
- When answers returned no sources in the period.
How to read it
Source share and Influence read the same evidence at different grains. Influence asks how many grounded answers include you as a source at all; Source share asks what slice of all the source links is yours.
If answers returned no sources in a period, we show n/a. Other tools call a similar metric a citation share; we say source, because it counts every source an answer drew on, linked or not.
